Signs & Symptoms Requiring Vet Care

Pet Health Concerns

Maintaining your pet’s health involves routine care and close observation of daily events.

The American Veterinary Medical Association recommends a consultation with a veterinarian if your pet exhibits any of the following concerns:

  • loss of appetite, excessive water consumption, significant weight gain or loss
  • abnormal discharges from the eyes, nose, or other body openings
  • bad breath or excessive yellow crusting (tarter) on teeth
  • abnormal, difficult, or uncontrolled bowel habits
  • loss of hair, dandruff, dull or ragged coat
  • open sores or wounds
  • abnormal behavior, lethargy (tiredness), or sudden vicious tendencies
  • abnormal lumps or bumps
  • limping, difficulty standing or lying down
  • excessive scratching, head shaking, licking, or biting any part of the body

Many general surgery options are available including: spay, neuter, dermatological mass removals, and emergency surgeries. All surgeries are performed with state of the art equipment. Chateau Animal Hospital also has ultrasound diagnostic technology. As with human medicine, all surgical candidates are pre-screened with full blood chemistry, electrolyte, and complete blood counts. Complete hospital sterility protocols are observed.
